01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated in the heart of Straubing at Theresienpl. 27, Straubinger Weissbierhaus is a quintessential Bavarian restaurant that invites guests on a genuine culinary journey through Bavaria’s rich flavors and hearty traditions. This warm and inviting establishment proudly celebrates Bavarian cuisine with dishes that deliver authentic taste and comforting indulgence.

From the moment you step inside, a welcoming “Bayerisch” atmosphere envelops you—the ambience is relaxed yet lively, perfectly complementing the rustic charm typical of the region. Patrons often praise the laid-back vibe combined with attentive service, which seamlessly enhances the overall dining experience.

The restaurant is renowned for its take on classic Bavarian specialties, with the cordon bleu earning enthusiastic accolades such as “the best I ever ate” from diners like Daniel Kovacs. This dish exemplifies Straubinger Weissbierhaus’s ability to transform familiar comfort food into something truly memorable, its golden crust crisp yet tender, hiding succulent, expertly cooked meats inside.

Other culinary highlights include hearty portions of traditional local fare—rich, flavorful, and unapologetically satisfying. As Jakub Stuchlik notes, the meals here offer genuine “local cuisine, as fat as it gets,” ensuring you leave completely satiated, even if a post-meal food coma makes cycling a bit of a challenge! This sentiment captures the generous spirit of Bavarian cooking served here, where robust flavors and substantial servings reign supreme.

The beer selection perfectly complements the menu, with fine regional brews that invite you to relax and savor each bite. Though mostly known for Bavarian beer, even guests like Nigel Beckman have found pleasure in trying other local brews amidst the restaurant’s inviting ambiance. Conveniently, Straubinger Weissbierhaus accepts card payments, allowing you to focus on enjoying your meal without hassle.

Whether you’re a local or a traveler seeking an authentic Bavarian dining experience, Straubinger Weissbierhaus stands out as a top choice. The impeccable blend of rich, mouth-watering food, genuine atmosphere, and friendly service creates an experience that is not just a meal but a true celebration of Bavarian culture. It’s a place where every dish tells a story, and every visit leaves a lasting, savory impression.

We had the local cousine, as fat as it gets. The meal was very good, although extremely stupid. We got foodcoma in no time afterwards and cycling was a great challenge. The service was really nic to us, even made a foto. Reasonable prices (not great not terrible) and fine beer. Would recommend, but not for cycling trip!
